Description
What you need to do in advance
All resources will be provided.
Prior to attending, students will be sent a past exam paper which is to be completed under exam conditions and returned. This will then be reviewed and used to identify areas of particular strength, and areas where improvement is required.
In addition, students will also be asked to complete a brief subject specific knowledge questionnaire.
What is included in each session?
Each student will receive at least a week in advance a work pack including all exam resources that they will use during the day. These should be printed and placed into a folder
Working on areas that require improvement
Practising exam questions and working through answers on these areas. Typically, I would look to cover no more than 3 – 5 main topics per session
How to read a Maths exam question and get marks even when not knowing the final answer
How to make sure you get full marks on the questions/areas you know
What workings to show to get the maximum marks possible
What formulas to learn and which ones are provided within the exam
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Each session ends with a quick assessment and reflections on the areas covered on the day
In each session I will explain recent exam questions from each of the topics listed. Every student will receive a booklet with exam questions and solutions for each of the workshops.
