About Belle

Belle Cottingham - Author, Teacher, Tutor, Researcher in Mathematics Teaching and Learning.

The primary obstacle to successful learning is the negativity (both internal and external) that would suggest you are unable to learn something.

Over the years (17 years+ of writing and tutoring), Maths with Belle has developed strategies to address the negativity and general apathy that exists towards study. It is important to remember however, that merely attending a course or buying a book will not significantly change your grades - only you can do that. The work we do with you will promote a way of thinking that is designed to inspire this sort of transformation.

A core focus for maths teaching and writing must be problem solving, as the skills gained from this are essential skills not just for maths, but learning generally. These types of questions feature heavily in exam scenarios, and are typically the ones where most marks are lost. As a consequence, all the teaching and writing looks to address this area.

Maths with Belle has been created to supplement learners’ knowledge, with options to either access one off content, provide bespoke learning solutions, or to use problem solving questions similar to the ones that often come up in exams. With either option, you will be able to access video tutorials, live lessons, weekly study plans, exam papers and answers, curriculum mapping and more…
